Posture Tune-Up | Inversions!

Do you ever feel a little nervous when a teacher calls out "Shoulder Stand" or "Headstand" in class? You aren't alone! While these poses are staples of our Yoga Asana practice, they require a mix of technique, steadiness and confidence.

Join us at Yoga Grace for an afternoon dedicated to de-mystifying the world of being upside down. This workshop is designed to take the intimidation factor away and replace it with curiosity and play. We’ll be breaking down the two most common inversions you'll see in our weekly classes:

  • Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand): Often called the "Mother of all Poses," we’ll explore how to arrive into and stay in this posture with ease.

  • Sirsasana (Headstand): Learn the foundational architecture of a solid headstand to unlock the powerful therapeutic benefits of this posture.

Why go upside down?

Inversions are incredible postures for the body and mind. By shifting our relationship with gravity, we unlock incredible therapeutic benefits:

  • Vibrancy: Boosts circulation and refreshes the nervous system.

  • Confidence: Overcoming the fear of being upside down builds resilience on and off the mat.

  • Clarity: Quiets the chatter of the mind, leaving you feeling grounded and focused.

What to expect:

This is a judgment-free learning opportunity. We’ll move through foundational alignment tips, explore the why behind the postures, and use props and walls to ensure everyone feels safe and supported. Whether you’re working on preparing your body to go upside down, or are ready to find your balance in the centre of the room, there is a place for you here.

Come play, learn, and leave feeling a little lighter!
